Senator blasts Mexico president, says toxic sewage threatens ‘national security’

The message determines Shehi’s interest not only the health and safety of the local population, but also indicates that toxic leakage can endanger American national security.

“This continuous emptying disturbs thousands of Americans annually, including US Navy and Marine Special Forces who are trained in affected waters,” says a message to the President of Mexico. “In February 2025, the Office of the Ministry of Defense of the General Inspector General concluded that, in the absence of work, the Navy’s war leadership will be advised to cancel or transfer up to 75 percent of water exercises at the marine bombing due to high levels of bacterial pollution.”

Last week, the Border and International Water Committee stated that Mexico received 5 million gallons of wastewater daily in Tijuana River. The toxic waste then flows to the United States, and can make its way to the Pacific Ocean.

“For decades, Mexico was getting rid of toxic waste in water as our most elite soldiers trained, causing serious health problems and hurting our willingness,” Sheei told Fox News Digital. “The problem is getting worse, and their failure to do anything about it is to harm our forces and our national security. Mexico needs to put this toxic tide immediately.”

While sheehy highlights the alarm of congress, local leaders have also confirmed that the deliberate waste of the Mexican government may let the population suffer from dangerous and harmful environmental conditions.
