‘She collapsed in front of…’: 82-year-old woman collapses at Delhi Airport after Air India fails to provide pre-booked wheelchair

A 82 -year -old woman was injured at Delhi Airport after Air India failed to provide a seat in advance, forcing her to walk before the collapse, as she claimed her granddaughter.

In a post on X, Parul Kanwar described “the neglect of the airline”, in detail how her grandmother, a decorated public lieutenant, had a wheelchair reservation on the March 4 flight from Delhi to Bangaluru. Despite repeated requests, no wheelchair has been provided by Air India employees, an airport aid office, or even Nile staff, who had reserves but was claimed that he refused to share it.

“It collapsed in front of the excellent economy Airlines counter.”

“With no other option, this old lady’s apartment slowly across three parking corridors at Station 3 with the help of a family member. She managed to enter the airport on foot, and no wheelchair or help was presented. In the end, her legs gave the road, and fell – fell in front of the Air India Premium Counter.

Parol also claimed that he did not help any of India’s employees in India, and her family had to arrange medical aid themselves. When a wheelchair finally arrived, it was claimed that the airline had boarded it without a suitable medical examination, despite its lips bleeding and injuries in its head and nose. The flight staff presented snow packages and alerted the Bangaluru Medical Airport team, as it was given two stitches upon arrival.

“Writing this from the intensive care unit”

The situation increased after the journey, as the elderly woman in the intensive care unit should have been accepted due to fears of potential brain bleeding.

“Today, I sit here, write this from the intensive care unit. It was here two days under observation. My mother and Abi observed while doctors pump it with medicines, and her left side sides lost his strength. It is a long path before pain and recovery she did not deserve,” Parol participated.

The family filed complaints with DGCA and Air India, demanding accountability.

Air India responds amid general anger
