Stellantis recalls 91,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee hybrids for software issue

The National Road Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Thursday that the mother company Kreesler remembers more than 91,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the United States due to a software imbalance that may lead to the loss of leadership.

Some Jeep Grand Cherokee hybrid electric electric cars, which are 2022 to 2026, may have an overload of the precise processor of the control magazine in the battery package control. When this happens, a hybrid control processor can misrepresent signals from the battery package console – which may lead to the loss of drive energy, as NHTSA indicated.

“The unexpected loss of payment can cause a vehicle’s failure without prior warning,” NHTSA pointed out.

Of 91,787, only 1 %, or about 918 of them, have a defect, according to NHTSA.

Similar compounds that are not part of this recall either do not contain a mixed control processor or built after the affected timeline, according to NHTSA.

As of August 18, Fiat Chryer Automobiles 96 received a complaint from customers, 110 field reports and 320 other service records related to this problem. As on the same date, the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem, as NHTSA indicated.

On September 11, merchants will be notified, and the VINS definition will be searched on NHTSA. The owner’s mail notification messages will be sent on October 23, according to NHTSA.

In a similar announcement earlier this year, NHTSA said that Stelantis used to remember more than 63,000 Cherokees, with the 2017 years to 2019, due to problems with vehicle power transport units.

In November, Stellantis announced that it had been up indefinitely more than 1,000 employees at its ore -pocket assembly factory in Ohio, where the car industry company has reduced stock levels significantly to match the demand.

Stelantis did not immediately respond to the Fox Business request for comment.
