Sony testing AI to drive PlayStation characters

As a company and platform from the first party, PlayStation and Sony have not been away from using artificial intelligence as part of the value proposal for consumers. Although the Microsoft competitor made a big offer about his use of game thinking and initial models, Sony has instead focused on using artificial intelligence and machine learning to generate tires and uses of devices, and remains largely the experience of the famous software portfolio of PlayStation Worldwide Studios. But if the leaked video clip is any indicator, this may change soon.
In a report from The Verge, Tipster was directed in a video on YouTube, which appears to be an internal show in Sony. The video has now been removed as a result of the claim of copyright from a company called Muso, which operates as a copyright enforcement company that lists Sony Entertainment as one of its customers. In the video, the PlayStation ALOY-the hero of each of the horizon titles-answers questions from the player’s cartoon characters, writing and sound. The same video is narrated by Sharawin, Raghoebardajal, Director of Software Engineering at Sony Entertainment, whose main responsibilities include the intersection of video game technology and AI.
Raghoebardajal does not indicate at any time that this is a product that is scheduled to be announced or integrated into games. The narration states that this technology has been developed alongside guerrilla war games as a preliminary model of Sony.
The same illustration is run using Whisper OpenAI for speech to the text, GPT-4 and Llama 3 as a conversation brain. Sony’s emotional phonetic synthesis controls speech, while its Muckingbird technology operates the animation of the face. Horizon: Forbeddeen West, the previous main horizon title. Although VR Horizon, Call of the Mountain, allowed players to speak with Aloy while establishing another character, this explanatory show assumes a more separate role although the player in the banned West will control Aloy.
In games, ALOY was expressed by Ashley Burch, a well -known Union actress outside video games for her role in Mythic Quest but everywhere in the world of audio video games. We have contacted Porsche’s propaganda, but we have not heard of the time of publication. SAG-Aftra is still in a conditional blow to protection against artificial intelligence in vocal acting, including sound alternatives.
More than that, it’s a bit difficult to see the endless conversation with video game characters. Both the horizon titles were praised for their book and their novels about the personalities of rebuilding a world after it was completed by fleeing technology. Replace that with artificial intelligence it does not seem to increase the pleasure of the player all of this much. Sony may have more ideas about where this video game design can take more than just what appears on the surface.
