Tesla’s robotaxi plans have the attention of federal investigators

Federal safety investigators Tesla sent a detailed list of questions about the upcoming Robotaxi service as part of the investigation of how the company “full self (supervision)” works in low -definition conditions.
The Bureau of Investigations in the National Traffic Safety Administration in the field of investigations into the additional leadership on full self-driving (under supervision)-or “FSD”-wants to “understand how Tesla plans to evaluate its cars and automated operating technologies to drive on public roads,” according to the message published on Monday and First by Reuters.
Tesla was not quiet about wage Robotaxi service launch plans in Austin, Texas, using their own fleet vehicles next June. But it seems that the Tesla leaflet on April 23 on X captured the attention of federal organizers.
This post, which was cited in the letter, read: “The FSD service is under the air on the air for an early group of employees in the Ostin and San Francisco Bay area. We have completed more than 1.5 thousand trips and 15 thousand miles of driving. This service helps us to develop FSD networks, check the health of FSD networks, an application of vehicle, combat vehicle and distance aids.”
NHTSA opened its investigation into the “full -time” TESLA program (supervisory) “in October after four incidents were reported in low -definition situations. Tesla’s FSD is an advanced system to help the driver’s driver’s program requires the driver to keep his hands on the wheel even when he deals with some driving operations such as braking and guidance in some environments and conditions.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said that robotics will use the “non -supervision” version that has not yet been released from its full program.
In her speech in May, Tesla sent a series of questions directly aimed at determining whether the automated driving system in the planned robots is the same – or the like – to the supervisory FSD FSD. The agency requested details about the fleet size and vehicle models that will be used in the Robotaxi service, and how Tesla plans to determine whether the Robotaxi system is safe, and if the automatic driving system has any relationship with the FSD product subject to supervision.

The researchers also asked Tesla to describe how “it intends to ensure the integrity of robotics operations in conditions of decreased road clarity, such as the glow of the sun, fog, air dust, air, or snow.”
