State Department to layoff nearly 2,000 employees in reorganization plan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will move to the layoff of nearly 2000 employees on Friday, as the reorganization plan begins.

An internal memorandum distributed Thursday evening by Michael Regas, Deputy Minister of Administration and Resources, announced that the affected home employees will be notified of the reduction of power (RIF) “in the coming days.”

Fox News learned that nearly 1,800 people would be affected.

“Many of this, as we said, covers excess offices and takes some of these intersection functions and transfer them to regional offices and our embassies abroad, to people who are closest to the place of diplomacy, to enable them to resources and powers they need to be able to conduct the president’s foreign policy.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Tami Bruce warned on Thursday that the agency would move quickly after the Supreme Court remained a judicial court for the minimum court preventing the administration from implementing the supreme force discounts throughout the federal agencies.

A senior official said that there are currently any plans to close abroad for embassies and outposts. They added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will maintain the dignity of the affected workers.

“We will work to preserve the dignity of federal workers,” the official said. “We want to be sensitive to that process and make sure that people have the resources they need … and make sure that everyone is treated in dignity.”
