Millions Of Americans Are Being Advised Not To Go Outside

In the aftermath of the massive forest fires in Manitoba County in Canada, people are warned thousands of miles away from staying in their homes thanks to the ash and stirring smoke who travel on the wind to their homes.

As a mark has been placed before NewsweekPeople who live in eight American states (and four Canadian provinces) are now being warned of air pollution – and as an air quality map shows, the affected areas are tens of millions of population.

According to Airnow-which publishes an actual air quality map, which depends on data from dozens of government, local and federal agencies in the United States-parts of New York City are affected, Detroit and Akllahoma City currently with “moderate” air pollution. The poor quality air can be a problem for anyone, but groups are particularly sensitive including pregnant women, children, elderly or people with heart or lung conditions.

Meanwhile, the entire area surrounding the cities of Texas in Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio is subject to a similar warning to the AQI index, and the latter’s outskirts are “unhealthy” or “unhealthy for sensitive groups”.

With more than six million people living in those four cities alone only and 9.5 million additional in New York City, OKC, and Detroit, this means that millions of people do not suffer from negative quality enough in the air, if they face any health problems at all, at home until the wild smoke passes.

The Environmental Protection Agency also explains, the AQI legend, which ranges between 500 points, is classified as colors used by US -based agencies based on the number of people who are affected by the weak air quality. Even those who live “Code Yellow”, which are assigned most of the currently affected areas, can face problems – and it may not be “unusually sensitive” people who suffer.

Although the Environmental Protection Agency notes that it “cannot determine groups of persons at greater risk” under “moderate AQI”, human exposure studies under control suggested by the agency suggested that “there are individuals with health effects on more moderate levels of outdoor effort or at low ozone levels of the average person.

“These individuals”, as the AQI legend’s explanation from the Environmental Protection Agency, “may be exposed to antiquities when the air quality is in the moderate range.”

Although it is certain that AQI is not worse in the United States at the present time, the fact remains that countless people may be in danger due to the wild smoke that infiltrates their cities.

The only real way to avoid growing air pollution is to stay inside with the closure of windows – and with many people under AQI warning at the present time, this is impossible.
