UAW condemns Hyundai over worker safety after Georgia factory raid
The president of Hyundai Motor Company, Jose Monoz, responds to the expected auto industry tariff for “Claman count”.
The UAW Automobile Labor Union (UAW) condemns Hyundai to what it calls a “shameful record of workers’ safety” after a migration raid at the electric car battery factory in Georgia.

The union says that three workers in Hyundai Tofua are in the job in the past two years, and called on federal agencies including the Department of Occupational Safety and Health and the National Workers’ Relations Council “to increase safety in the workplace.”

“Unfortunately, the federal military campaign against these workers hurts safety in Hyundai. The workers are not the problem. The exploitative companies,” said UAW statement. “UAW will always stand with all workers-migrants and born both-against unsafe companies and military attacks on our workplaces.”

The detainees have now been released in Georgia and sent to their home country, after South Korea and the United States have reached an agreement.
