Texas woman charged with performing illegal abortions

A midwife was arrested in the Houston area, allegedly providing illegal abortion, the first such arrest under the prohibition of semi -abortion based on Texas.

Texas Pakiston Prosecutor announced that Maria Margarita Rojas, 48, who has known herself as “Dr. Maria” accused of illegal performance of abortion, a second degree felony, as well as practicing medicine without a license.

“In Texas, life is sacred,” Buckston said in a statement. “I will always do everything in a pursuit to protect life -supporting laws in our state, and I am working to ensure that unlicensed individuals who are exposed to women’s lives by performing illegal abortion are fully tried.”

“The Texas Law, which protects life, is clear, and we will hold those who violate it,” he added.

Rojas is allegedly running a network of clinics in the outskirts of Houston from Waller, Cypress and Spring. The Buckston office said that the clinics “illegally used unlicensed individuals who have falsely presented themselves as licensed medical professionals.”

Rojas accuses herself of performing illegal abortion in clinics, in violation of the 2021 Texas Life Protection Law.

Abortion of abortion is banned in Texas, except for certain conditions to save the life of a pregnant woman. The Buckston office said that Texas was carrying abortion providers, not patients, criminal responsible for illegal procedures.

John Sugo, the head of Texas, praised the right to life, a life -supporting group that opposes abortion, arrest.

“The abortions did not abandon their battles for Texas, they went online and under the ground,” Sugo said. “God made every child in his image. For this reason, children who are born in illegal abortion deserve justice.”

Waller Sean County’s lawyer and the case passed the case to the Buckston office.

“In Waller County, we respect all life,” Witten said to Fox News Digital. “We expect people to follow the law in Texas.”

In addition to the arrest, the enforcement of the health care program of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to obtain a temporary restriction order to close clinics.
