“With the disappointment of a good friend, he is a great player and a great person.” Sky Sports. “He pushed me to that and made me a better player. His legacy will always be there, he did a lot for this club.
“It will be missed for me as one of my best friends in the game, we did all of this together. He took me to levels that I never knew. It was not easy for Trent, but he did not make the decision. It was not good to see him topping him but you cannot tell people how I feel it.
The hole echoed Robertson’s feelings in his observations after the match, saying: “Everyone can have their own opinion and you can express it in any way you want.
“I heard mixed opinions, but the only opinion that I have is that I owe players and fans to try to win the football game, and if Conor Bradley cannot continue because he is tired and I have Trent Alexander-Arnold on the bench, I will bring him because we want to win this game in football.
“He was very close to us to win it because he had two or three passes – what makes him very special. For me, it’s very easy to want to win, bring him and this is what I did and for the fans, they have the right to get their own opinions.”
Alexander-Arnold is expected to sign a long-term deal at Real Madrid, in the footsteps of Michael Owen and Steve McManmanan, who left Liverpool to the Spanish capital, who is 24 and 27 years old, respectively-the latter also leaves free transfer after choosing a new contract.
