The Bambu H2D isn’t just a bigger 3D printer — it’s a laser cutter, pen plotter, and Cricut competitor too

Last May, I told you how 3D printers are still not easy for the comprehensive market, but Bambu Lab has built easier so far. Now, instead of facilitating the matter, Bambu builds its largest and most advanced model so far – the Swiss army knife of 3D printers that can be cut, drawing, and drilling.

The new Bambu H2D, which starts from $ 1899, has two 3D print nozzles and a much larger bed, but they also come with a standard facility system. Connect a blade, and go through paper and vinyl. Connect a pen, and will draw slogans or plans in a flash. You can even engrave pictures of laser and burn them in all kinds of materials.

With the laser 10 watts and 40 watts, I dug stencil wooden Pokemon for my daughter, then turned one of her other drawings into a dedicated drink ship. (See the included video!) First, the laser Pambo gently dug the surface, then cut the ship, all with one process. I even managed to engrave a group of Apple Airgs, although I burned one of its plastic shells trying to contact the correct settings.

Certainly, you can already do these things with individual tools, and there are a few machines on the market that combine 3D printing, laser cut, and direct CNC into one device. But now, Bambu is about to muscle on Cricut, Glowforge, Idraw’s Turf with one machine for the PROSUMER amateur rule. Or at least this is the idea.

Basically, the H2D works in the same way as the original BAMBU printers: it contains a robot that moves left, right, forward and back at high speed, while the bed slowly reduces to allow printing longer as it goes. (Specifically, it is a basic system two Alternated nozzles, fast power connector and power connector for other tools.

From the logical: somewhat like how the Kitchenaid holder allows you to use its rotating power to rotate the pasta maker or the vegetable facility optionally, so why do not use three -dimensional movements of the 3D printer to move pens, strikes and lasers as well?

But this is optional, so let’s talk about 3D printing first. You can print things exactly twice such as the original X1 and P1 chain printers from the BAMBU (by size) inside the construction area 350 x 320 x 325 mm, and double nozzles means that you can print in two different materials without constantly change between those strands and waste some each time you do. One of the examples of Bambu is a full bike helmet Incurred Fill it, which you can print simultaneously, with a powerful Peter Crusal Crusal Cruschable to a soft TPU TPU.

Like Bambu A1 and A1 Mini for the past year, H2D inherits an easy nozzle bodies, only with designed nozzles to 350 ° C and those high flow. It only supports the correct nozzle TPU, but each of them can be connected to its optional AMS to decrease and move different types of ritual automatically, and the BAMBU’s desktop application can now tell you the nozzles on which the openings must go to reduce waste.

When talking about AMS, the new AMS 2 Pro is optional for four Ams 2 colors, or a mono -colored AMS, now they have integrated heaters and magnetic electric holes and close them so that they can dry Fitzing also (important because many 3D print materials absorb annoying moisture). Ams Ht reaches 85 ° C, ams 2 Pro up to 65 degrees.

The printer contains independent holes as well, so you do not need to open the door or remove the cap to ensure that soft plastic materials are not distorted. It has a room room 65 degrees to keep things kindly to the threads. Everywhere I look at it, there are possible improvements, from a new dual -inspired system inspired by society for holes, to the way its tubes are easier to communicate and feed a little more reliable than before.

This is before you choose specific parts of the laser, including a set of green laser safety windows, additional cameras and flame sensors, and a large red button that you can quickly close. I was worried about heating the flammable materials inside a 3D printer, especially as soon as the touch screen made me walk in the “terms and conditions of the laser”, but I have not seen any flame yet. After seeing how the air plane dealing with air and fans and the exit of optional smoke with the heat during the first few laser operations, I feel reasonable.

I don’t know how many times I want to use a laser inside a 3D printer, and leave the laser a burning smell in my garage for several days even with a smoke extract in the maximum. In addition, you cannot (concept) start a laser process or cut away: as a preventive action, BAMBU makes you press the actual button on the printer and advise you to get around it. Fortunately, laser operations a lot Faster than 3D printing, measured in seconds and minutes instead of hours and days.

BAMBU Suite is the new desktop application for laser, blade and pen, and it is small naked today. Although you should be able to download and print society designs that start in April, the release you tried was limited to pre -shapes, text, curved lines, QR symbols and pictures. You can adjust the speed, laser strength or blade/pen pressure, and ask the printer to take a picture of your materials on the bed, then overcome your project over that image before pressing the print.

Although I got H2D for about a month, I will not review it anytime soon. This is partly because there are many functions that must be tested, but also partially because I want to give it more time in the oven: like most 3D printers, it seems that BAMBU seems to send this situation to auditors before contacting its full functions.

While the BAMBU, touch and software, do a great job in alleviating new arrivals to printing, cutting and drilling, and it contains more cameras and algorithms more than ever (including Lidar, Timelapse, a new nozzle camera and a bird eye camera as well) essential 3D printing modes are not yet reliable like other printers that you used.

BAMBU sent me a completely new printer after its first tests, in which 3D printers failed cheaper. My second printer works better, but I still get better quality than the old P1P. In addition, the H2D’s Dual-Nozzle feature does not work reliably for me. I have finished Bambo’s bike helmet after printing nearly three days, but I will not be able to wear it, given all the ugly Petg parts of Petg jam to go out and clear gaps in TPU filling.

Here we hope you are just increasing pain. At least, I will go to reviews of other 3D print lovers who have another experience before buying this device.

Bambu H2D starts from $ 1,899 with Predorders starting from June. A group of H2D at $ 2,799 with a 10W laser is available for pre -order today and ships at the end of April. Meanwhile, H2D AMS AMS AMS AMS AMS AMS 2 Pro, Build Plate, Robool Holder and Excaptory Box include. This is in the stock and is available for order now. Finally, there is a full lympo package of $ 3,499 of laser with laser, 40 watts, laser platform, cutting platform, and emergency button. Preparation for that day begins and shipped at the end of April.
