Canada plans to lift tariffs on some US goods to resume trade talks: report

Canada announced on Friday that it will remove many revenge definitions imposed on American goods as a sign of goodwill that aims to resume the trade conversations that have stopped.
The Canadian customs tariffs will be raised on the goods compatible with the United States and Mexico-Linka (USMCA) agreement under this step, while the customs tariff imposed on American, steel and aluminum cars will remain valid at the present time.

“Canada currently has the best commercial deal with the United States. Although it is different from what we had before, it is still better than any other country,” Carney said.
Carney said President Donald Trump told him that the move would launch trade negotiations.
“We welcome this step by Canada, which has long been late,” a White House official told Fox News. “We look forward to continuing our discussions with Canada on commercial administration and national security concerns.”
In late June, the Canadian government canceled plans for the digital services tax that ignited American companies, especially in the technology sector, in an attempt to remove a thorny issue of commercial negotiations.
