Salford City takeover: David Beckham and Gary Neville lead new consortium in acquiring League Two club | Football News

Salvord City has been obtained by a new consortium led by David Beckham and Gary Neville, which intends to “invest heavily” in the club.

Among the new shareholders are the businessman in the United States of Declan Kelly and Lord Mervyn Davies, who will be on the two chair participating in the Legue Two Board of Directors.

Neville and Picham were already participating in Salford, along with their former category of their former Manchester United teammates, Nikki Pot, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Phil Neville, but they will not be contributing despite their remaining roles in the club.

Singaporean businessman Peter Lim was a majority contributor since the first acquisition in 2014 before Neville obtained his share last August.

Beckham said: “I grew up in Salford.

“Salvord City is at the heart of her community. It has a rich history and I am pleased to be part of the next chapter.”

Salvord says that the acquisition was “uniquely organized” through a member club consisting of nine shareholders including Dream SPORTS Group (the leading sports technology company in India), Colin Ryan (Founder, Clipper Street Capital), Frank Ryan (Global Participant president, Global Co-CoO, and Aryicas Chair, DLA PIPER), Nick Woodhouse (Nick Vice Vice Prands).

“These shareholders have extensive experience in working with many of the largest companies and brands in the world,” said Salford. “The membership group was specifically built to include executives who are withdrawn from different backgrounds across the financing, legal, media, technology and entertainment sectors to increase the effect and contribution that can be in the club to move forward.”

“I am enthusiastic about the city of Salford. This is a unique partnership with a variety of minds and experience, which is gathered by football love. Football will come first, however, it is important to lead the club towards sustainability in the four years to the next five. I cannot wait for the next part of this trip.”

Salvord won four promotional offers in five seasons to reach the English language as a foreign language after 92 acquisitions, but their progress stopped.

They ended a point outside the match this season under the leadership of coach Karl Robinson, and they will now start preparing for their seventh consecutive campaign in the second league.
