‘Real Housewives’ EP Talks NeNe Leakes’ Potential Return To Bravo

King expressed her excitement at OG’s big comeback, saying she “deserved” it.

As previously reported ExplosionSources close to the production of the Bravo spin-off series “Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip” revealed that Leakes was negotiating her contract to appear on the series.

“Real Housewives” godfather Andy Cohen discussed the series at BravoCon 2025, calling it an epic celebration of the show’s 20th anniversary. Frances Berwick, president of Bravo and Peacock Unscripted, also spoke about the new series, saying, “For two decades, Real Housewives has amplified women’s voices, highlighted their ambition, humor, and strength, and inspired millions with their raw authenticity.”

“The Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip,” Berwick continued, “is a love letter to the women who turned a reality TV show into a cultural phenomenon — and the fans who were there for every laugh, gasp, toast, and turn at the table.”

Does King think NeNe Leakes will be a good fit for the series in five years?

When asked if he thought Leakes would be a good fit to return to the Real Housewives franchise, King wasn’t shy about heaping praise on the legendary reality star.

“NeNe fits into any room she walks into,” he said. “We’re talking about [NeNe Leakes]Who is the queen of reality TV? She’s the greatest housewife ever, and I hear the rumors too, and I think this is a step in the right direction for all of us. [NeNe’s fanbase]”.

Furthermore, King called for Leakes’ permanent return to her core franchise, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” King praised Lex as a leader of “RHOA” before saying he hopes her potential return is as bold as she is.

If Leakes returns to Bravo, her return is sure to make headlines, as she has filed a lawsuit against the network in 2022. In a devastating lawsuit, Leakes alleged that production companies Bravo and “RHOA” have fostered a “corporate and workplace culture where racially insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated — if not, encouraged.”

Elsewhere in the lawsuit, Leakes cited specific examples of places she believes have been victims of racism. She also asserted that Bravo did not protect her from the allegedly harmful situations. “As the Black Lives Matter movement sweeps our nation, Ms. Leakes — Bravo’s historically most successful Black female talent — should have been embraced by NBC, Bravo, and True,” the lawsuit reads. “Instead, NBC, Bravo and True forced her out of the house she had built, stripping her of any regular role.”

Her lawsuit against the network is just part of the story. After her exit from “RHOA” in 2020, Cohen spoke with former talk show host Wendy Williams about her departure, during which Williams made questionable statements about the “Glee” actress.
