Truecaller’s call-recording feature won’t work on iPhones from September 30
Truecaller stops the IOS call recorder-a little more than two years after the feature of the feature-where the Swedish company chooses to focus on its basic offers: random mail calls.
On Friday, the company confirmed to Techcrunch that its calling feature will not be available on iPhone devices that start on September 30. Users with reserved call recordings can either download them on their devices, share them via email or correspondence applications, or switch their storage preferences to iCloud to maintain available recordings even after stopping the feature.
Nakul Kabra, president of Truecaller, Techcrunch, told the company that it made the decision because it wanted to focus on the direct caller identifier and the features of automatic random mail.
In June 2023, Truecaller launched calls to iOS for its paid subscribers, as well as re -introducing the feature on Android. The app also got support for the original call copies. Both calls and copies were launched in India last year.
Although the recording calls work smoothly on Android, it is more complicated on iOS, as the Apple operating system does not allow the recording of third -party applications original. To overcome this, Truecaller uses a registration line that merges calls for registration – a method that increases costs and complexity, for all Kabra. These challenges eventually stopped the feature.
The company has prepared a support page to help users if they face any problems during the transition.
Truecaller’s step comes months after Apple introduces original calls and subsidies for iPhone users in the iOS 18.1 update last year. The original feature of users does not require a record line to register the call, unlike Truecaller, and it also brings Apple Intelligence copies.

However, Truecaller introduced calls in the first place to lure iPhone users for the upgrade, as the caliph’s definition function is limited at the free level. Users also get a caller identifier in the actual time, as well as banning advanced and automatic random mail, Siri shortcuts, hidden mode, and other features.
In Truecaller there are about 3 million subscribers around the world, but iOS accounts for 44 % of its total unique revenues, according to its financial results in the second quarter (PDF).
