Trump admin cuts $4 billion from California high-speed rail project
Trump is appointed to calm high -speed railways in California
The high -speed railway project in California suffered a large setback after Transport Minister Sean Duffy announced the termination of $ 4 billion of unique federal funding by the FBA.
Quoting 16 years of failure, no high -speed track, and costs, Duffy announced the project, which was called “the train anywhere”, “BOONDGGLE” mismanagement.
“This is a mistake in California. The Governor has enabled the government and the democratic democrats of these waste for years. The federal dollar is not an empty check – they come with a promise to make results,” Duffy said in a statement.
This announcement came after months of scrutiny after a comprehensive review of compliance, in addition to failed attempts by the California Railways (CHSRA) to address serious palaces in the project.

“After more than a decade of failures, CHSRA’s mismanagement has proven and incompetent that its train cannot be built anywhere on time or in the budget. It is time to die for this Boondogge. I will always fight President Trump to ensure that your tax dollars only go to projects that make wonderful and beautiful things.”
The review found that zero miles of the high -speed route has been placed since the Earth was broken 10 years ago, and the cost continues in the balloon.
President Donald Trump, echoing Duffy’s feelings, also referred to the project as “Boondogge”.
“With regard to the committed law, tax payment, and diligent citizens in the United States of America, I am pleased to announce that I officially liberated you from the financing of a high -speed train in California.”

“This BoondogGle, led by California Governor, has cost the Gavin Newscum, for taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars, and we did not receive anything in return except for cost excesses. The railway that we promised still does not exist, and we will not do it,” Trump continued.
“This project was very exaggerated, an excessive system, and it was never delivered. Thanks to the Minister of Transport, Sean Duffy, one Pence will not go with the federal dollar to this fraud in the newspapers again. This was a painful and unnecessary project, and a total waste of taxpayer funds-but no more!”
Representative Kevin Kelly, R-Calif. , Human Resources author 213, legislation to ban more Federal Federal Federation for high -speed railways, praised this step.
“The high -speed railway in California is the worst general infrastructure disaster in the history of the United States,” Kelly said.
“It is now expected that the project, which was supposed to end five years ago, will take a cost of $ 33 billion until the end of the century at a cost of $ 130 billion. I am grateful because President Trump and Minister Duffy avoid our taxpayers by cutting federal financing.
California governor Gavin New Roosom took a blow to Dove on X, saying that he would take advice from others on the Minister of Transport.
“You will not give advice from the man who cannot keep aircraft in the sky,” Niger wrote.
The Newsom office also issued a statement in response to “the Trump administration that illegally ends the Trump administration of high -speed railway financing in California.”
“Trump wants to deliver China in the future and give up the central valley. We will not allow it. With projects like high -speed railway in Texas failing to take off, we are miles away from others,” wrote newsoms.
“We are now in the stage of placing the path and the construction of high -speed railways in America. California puts all options on the table to fight this illegal procedure.”
The Ministry of Transport (DOT) added that it may also follow the recovery of the previously spent money and potential legal procedures.

In addition to canceling 4 billion dollars of federal funds that are not transferred to CHSRA, Duffy Fra was directed to review other binding and non -compressed grants related to the CHSRA project.
The 300 -page cursed report, which was released in June, examined the project and found delays, missing dates, mismanagement, waste, high costs, budget deficiency, and exaggerated representation of the expected passengers.
Other main results revealed this Project In the face of continuous cost excesses-it is possible that it is increasing-because of the delay and that CHSRA has failed to finish the touches on contracts for their high-speed sectors on time.

The project was initially described as a two -stage vision system that connects Los Angeles to San Francisco, and later north to Sacramento, and San Diego.
The report states that despite the money that was already identified in the project, there is a $ 7 billion financing gap to complete a sub -group of the first phase in the Central Valley from Mercyd to Beckerfield, known as the early operating sector (EOS).
Since the start of the project, it has been dramatically reduced from the 800 miles to 171 miles.
