Trump announces TikTok deal progress, plans to talk with China this week

President Trump said that the United States had reached a deal for the company to obtain American assets of Tikhak and plan to start talks with China this week.
“I think we will start on Monday or Tuesday … we are talking to China, and perhaps President Xi or one of his representatives, but we will face a large deal,” Trump told reporters on the Air Force on his way to his home in Pedmiester, New Jersey.
Trump said that the deal is likely to be approved by China, adding that he believed the agreement will benefit both countries.

“President Xi and the president are a great relationship, and I think it is good for them,” he said. “I think the deal is useful for China, and it is good for us.”
“Tiktok has returned”: Trump raises the future of the social media application
During an interview with Maria Bartopiromo on “Fox on Sunday morning”, last week, the president similarly indicated that American buyers were found to implement social media, describing them as “very rich people.”
“We have a buyer of Tikhak, by the way,” Trump said. “I think I will likely need China’s approval. I think President Shi is likely to do so.”

Last month, Trump expanded the deadline for the third time for Biotans, the Chinese company that developed Tiktok, to strip the American assets for the video post application. At bytedance until September 17 to find an American buyer, according to Reuters.

The United States approached this year to conclude a deal with Chinese -owned Tiktok to enter its American operations into a new company owned by American investors, but the Chinese government said it would not agree to this, citing the definitions of the Trump administration, according to a report.

Tiktok, which includes about 170 million active monthly users in the United States, had to stop working by January 19. Trump has signed an executive order at the time when Tiktok’s deadline extends for another 90 days. A second extension was released in April and a third was signed in June.
The Acts of Protected Applications of Americans from foreign liabilities, which was approved by congress in April 2024 with widespread support from the two parties, gave Tiktok nine months either to separate from the environment or remove it from the US -based application stores and hosting services.
By passing the law, Congress referred to concerns about the ownership of Chinese application, which members said that the application has the ability to weapons or use to collect huge amounts of user data.
