Trump-China trade agreement could include major 500 Boeing plane sale

People familiar with Bloomberg said that Aerospace Giant Boeing is holding talks to sell up to 500 aircraft to China in a deal that is said to be in the center of a trade agreement between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The people said that Boeing, which is in the midst of a transformation led by CEO Kelly Ordrag, is still working on making the details of the sale, such as the types and size of the jet models that will be sold as well as the timelines for delivery. However, the deal continues to depend on the traditions of trade dating back to the first period of Trump in his post.

Another case of complexity of matters is the fact that Boeing has lost the best executive director in China, two thousand Liu, in recent weeks. Carroll Shen has been used to become a temporary president of China.

A similar agreement was taken in 2023 by President Joe Biden and Chefy, but eventually fell. If it is completed, this will be the first main purchase of China for Boeing Gates Birds since Trump’s visit during his previous term.

Shortly after taking office for the second time, Trump moved quickly to impose a comprehensive tariff, including 10 % global import duty and rising fees. China has faced the largest penalty with up to 145 % on Chinese goods for a short period. Beijing asked Chinese transport companies to stop equipment purchases and spare parts related to American companies due to the huge tax in April, although it started resuming purchases in June.

Trump continued trade agreements with some countries. However, there is still a comprehensive deal with China, despite the temporary pause and additions in customs tariff negotiations.

Trump said last month that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessin’s meeting with Chinese officials “walked very well” and that he is looking forward to the meeting with the eleventh before the end of the year.
