Trump, Hegseth say Musk’s Pentagon meeting was about DOGE

President Donald Trump said he was not interested in showing “anyone” plans to move in conflict with China after the New York Times informed the Spickes meeting and CEO of Tesla Elon Musk in the Pentagon on Friday, which included details about the emergency plans of any war with Beijing.

Trump told correspondents on Friday that Musk met the Pentagon officials to discuss initiatives related to government efficiency management (DOGE) that Musk was leading.

“We don’t want to feel a possible war with China,” Trump said at the Oval Office on Friday. “But I can tell you if we do it, we are very implemented to deal with it. But I don’t want to make it clear to anyone. But, certainly, you will not offer him a businessman who helps us a lot. It is a great patriot. He took a big price to help us reduce costs, and he is doing a great job.”

Musk and China can be a conflict of interests, given the Tesla trading with China and Spacex relationship with Pentagon about military space capabilities. Discounting like China’s learning details about the US military war plans can endanger national security and undermine American forces.

But Defense Minister Beit Higseth said that the Moses meeting in the Pentagon focused on Doug, innovation and other ways to enhance efficiency, not China.

“There were no war plans,” he said at the White House. “There were no secret plans. This is not what we were doing in the Pentagon.”

HegSeth also announced plans on Thursday to cancel more than $ 580 million in the Ministry of Defense contracts, after recommendations from Doge.

The New York Times reported on Thursday evening that the Pentagon in Musk will include a presentation with 20 to 30 segment on how the United States is combating China, various Chinese goals for the strike and how the Pentagon will participate in these plans with Trump.

The Times also stated that the meeting will be held in the so -called Tank, a safe conference hall dedicated to subscribers, senior employees and visiting fighters.

The Times report said that the details about China could have been shared with Musk amid its efforts to lead Dog and possible discounts to the Ministry of Defense.

The White House referred the Fox News Digital to Trump’s comments when he asked her to comment about the nature of musk briefing.

Trump and Hegseth fell to the report on Thursday, as Trump described the report as “completely incorrect.” Higseth said in a post on X meeting with Musk will first address innovation.

In response to the Higseth post, Musk replied, “Exactly. Also, I visited the Pentagon several times over many years. It is not the first time in the building.”

Musk also said in a separate publication that he is looking forward to “the trials of those in the Pentagon who leak from harmful false information to NYT.”

“They will be found,” he said.
