Donald Trump said he would impose a 30 percent tariff on Mexico and the European Union from August 1 in a move that would increase the destruction of relations between us with two of its closest trading partners.

The president issued the threats of the new tariff in two messages published in Truth Social on Saturday morning.

While the message to the European Union followed a template similar to more than 20 of other threat errors published by the American President this week, Trump also accused Mexico “failed to stop the cartals.”

Earlier this year, the United States threatened Mexico and Canada with definitions of 25 percent for revenge for what Trump said he failed to stop illegal immigration and the deadly fentian flow across the borders of common countries with the United States.

In his message to Mexican President Claudia Xinbom, Trump admitted that the country was “helping him” secure the border. ” But he said that efforts did not go far.

Both discourse to the European Union and Mexico blamed the trade deficit of the United States with each country for fresh definitions. “The trade deficit represents a major threat to our economy, and in fact our national security!” Trump wrote.

The possibility of new fees on two close American allies and commercial partners wandering in a turbulent week in which Trump threatened more than 20 countries with definitions – as well as announcing the 50 percent imminent fees on copper.

The message comes to the European Union, although European officials spent weeks in the shuttle between Brussels and Washington to clarify a deal that the European Union member states can accept.

The two sides are working on plans to reduce the 25 percent tariffs on vehicles and are considering an agreement to cancel drawings on lives, aircraft and parts. The European Union is also ready to reduce its commercial surplus of 198 billion euros in goods by adhering to the purchase of more American weapons and liquefied natural gas.

So far, the European Union has not taken revenge on the Trump tariff, which includes a 25 percent tax on cars and auto parts, and a 50 percent tariff for steel, aluminum and the basic chain of 10 percent on most goods.

On Saturday, European Commission President Ursula von der Layen said that the European Union executive “take[s] Note “Trump’s message.

She said: “The imposition of a 30 percent tariff on European Union exports would disrupt the basic Atlantic supply chains, at the expense of companies, consumers and patients on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.”

The European Union “has constantly prioritized a negotiating solution” with the United States and was “ready to continue working for an agreement by August 1.” She added that the European Union was also ready to impose a counter -tariff “if necessary.”

The threat appears to be 30 percent – with more than two weeks of the potential time of talks on the settlement deal – it appears to be a negotiating tactic, according to the European Union diplomat, who was briefed on discussions between Brussels and Washington.

People who have seen the plans said.

France President Emmanuel Macron expressed “a very strong rejection” of the threat and urged Brussels to accelerate “the preparation of credible measures.”

In a statement, Prime Minister Italy, Georgia Meloni, called for “goodwill … to reach a fair agreement that can strengthen the West as a whole.”

“It will not make sense to raise a trade war between both sides of the Atlantic,” she said, adding that both sides should avoid “polarization.”

The Mexico government said on Saturday that it is already negotiating with the United States on a “alternative” before the date of the deadline and that it is believed that the decision is not fair. Shinbaum has long stressed the deal to take revenge.

Mexico, along with Canada, obtained great exemptions from the most Trump fees, and avoid exposure to mutual tariffs on April 2.

After unveiling the 25 percent customs tariff for its largest commercial partners in March, Trump later restored the attack and said that the customs tariff would not apply to any commodities that complied with the conditions of the 2020 Free Trade Agreement in the United States with its neighbors.

Exemption means that about 87 percent of Mexican goods entered the US tariff free of customs tariffs between January and March this year, according to the Mexican Ministry of Economy.

However, the country will continue to know the 50 percent tariff Trump on all imports of steel and aluminum.

The Trump administration has also launched national security investigations that can lead to customs tariffs on chips, wood, flying spare parts, pharmaceuticals and consumer electronics.
