Trump Signal chat leak may leave ‘persistent risk’: former intelligence official

A former National Intelligence official said on Sunday that the chat leakage of the Trump administration represents the danger of “uncontrolled communication”, which could have effects on future operations.
Soo Gordon, the former deputy director of National Intelligence during the first term of president Donald Trump, interacts with the leakage during the emergence of “CBS”.
“I am happy because the operation was successful,” Gordon said, referring to the American military strikes on the targets of Houthi terrorism. “Now we need to deal with the fact that this should not happen, there is a result when that happens and you cannot make sure that there are no ongoing risks to follow.”
Gordon said that although there are errors in the past regarding the protection of partner information, this leakage is different due to the Trump administration’s reaction to “there was nothing to be seen here.”

“I don’t think we should rely on the fact that nothing bad happened this time,” Gordon said. “We do not know whether the path of communications has been hacked, so we do not know whether governmental actors who have a lot of resources only sit and we are now looking at us that we are doing important things [Signal]”
Signal, an encrypted correspondent, became under the spotlight after it was revealed that senior national security leaders were in a group chat discussing plans to give terrorists in Yemen, which also included the liberation of the Atlantic Ocean, Jeffrey Goldberg. The chat was announced through a direct account of the group chat published by Goldberg in Monday’s article.

The Trump administration confirmed that no secret information was shared in the chat, as it doubled on Wednesday that the story of the Atlantic was a “trick” after Goldberg published specific texts of the chat.
The messages included the defense minister, Beit Higseth, who determines that the combat aircraft had been appointed to take off and the drones for the strike were ready for the operation, which was accompanied by chronological character.
RT. General Frank McKenzi, the former Circum leader, also appeared on the program on Sunday, saying that although he was “surprised” in the leakage of communications, he believed that “the biggest story” was how the United States recently started hitting the Houthis strongly, “quickly”, frankly, she was calling for previous administration. “
McKenzi said that “will not come out of the table” on how the United States faces the Iranian -backed terrorist group.
