Trump, Starmer Dodge Political Hardballs to Seek Common Ground

After a day of royal materials and the royal competition, US president Donald Trump turned into politics alongside an unlikely ally: British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer, who heads the Labor Party. The two leaders at Checkers, the Prime Minister’s residence, met on Thursday to indicate the importance of the “special relationship” of the two countries while avoiding difficult questions about some of their local and foreign policies.
For Starmer, the two -day visit is one of the continuous Downing Street strategy to attract Trump as London is seeking to enhance its economy and alleviate the American definitions. Trump’s call for one day of the royal treatment-with horse-drawn vehicles, a military bridge, and a luxurious government banquet at Windsor Castle-was only one step of the plan. The second step requires a 338 billion dollar investment package.

Prosperity Technology, the main American companies such as Blackstone, Microsoft and Openai, will invest more than $ 200 billion in Britain over the next decade. On the other hand, many British companies, including the GSK drug giant, will invest in the United States. The deal also pledged more bilateral cooperation in artificial intelligence, nuclear energy and quantum computing.
During the meeting, Trump and Starmer also clarified major differences – such as the Israel War in Gaza and the importance of wind force – to focus on the place where they find a common ground. Both agreed that additional pressure should be put on Russia to force President Vladimir Putin at the negotiating table, although they are still at odds with the best ways to do so. They moved away from the questions about Starmer’s plan to get to know an independent Palestinian state, which Trump does not approve.
