president Donald Trump said American Jews celebrating Hanukkah should not worry about their safety after the Bondi Beach attack.
“Celebrate with pride — be proud of who you are,” Trump told Fox News on Sunday.
The president’s comments come after Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the mass shooting at the “Hanukkah by the Sea” celebration in Bondi Beach, describing it as “an attack targeting Jewish Australians.”
“An attack on Australian Jews is an attack on every Australian, and every Australian tonight will be as shocked as I am by this attack on our way of life,” Albanese said at a press conference. “There is no place for this hatred, violence and terrorism in our nation. Let me be clear. We will eradicate it.”

At a government meeting in Dimona, Israel, on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he warned Albanians in an August letter that Australian government policies were encouraging anti-Semitism.
Netanyahu accused Albanians of failing to act as anti-Semitism spread and said inaction helped foster a climate of growing hostility toward Jews.

Netanyahu said at the meeting: “We saw an action by a brave man – who turned out to be a brave Muslim man, and I applaud him – who stopped one of these terrorists from killing innocent Jews. But this requires action from your government, which you are not taking.” “And you must do so, because history will not forgive hesitation and weakness. Rather, it will honor action and strength.”

Yael Eckstein, president of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, said the attack was a wake-up call for Jews.
“Terrorism does not stop in America, Europe or Australia. It does not only target Jews, it also targets Christians,” Eckstein said on Fox & Friends Weekend. “The answer to this darkness is light.”
