Trump to meet Putin in Alaska Friday to discuss ending Ukraine war

President Donald Trump will travel to Alaska on Friday to attend a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin because he is looking forward to moving negotiations that would put an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Trump tried to bring the two sides to the negotiating table to end the war and raise his speech against Russia if it continues to refuse to agree to a ceasefire. His administration also took steps to undermine Putin’s financial lever by threatening the customs tariff for countries that continue to buy Russian energy.

Earlier this month, the White House announced that Trump signed an executive order imposing a 25 % tariff on India due to its purchases of Russian oil, helping to finance Putin’s continuous war in Ukraine. It also considered Russia’s aggression against Ukraine as an “unusual and unusual threat” to American national security and creating a mechanism for federal agencies related to monitoring other potential violations.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview before Trump’s meeting with Putin that European allies of America should apply more economic pressure on the energy sector in Russia and formation on the cash flows that funds the military campaign of Russia.

“I want to say that the time has come for European counterparts to put it or silence it,” Pesin said in an interview with “Sabah with Maria” on Thursday.

“They still say,” Oh, the United States must do so, the United States must do so, “Pisent explained that President Trump has set secondary sanctions or a secondary tariff on India because of their consumption of Russian oil, and the Europeans have not yet.

“So we need some coordination here,” he said. “If we have a unified front, which will give President Trump the maximum leverage, I think our European counterparts need to play their role.”

Pesent explained that if the meeting in Alaska is not going well, the Trump administration may reach the increase in secondary definitions on commercial partners in Russia, saying, “I think everything is on the table.”

“We will see whether President Putin is ready to negotiate, and as you know, this is his chance if he wants to stop bloodshed. President Trump is ready to maintain the talks, and he has already spoke about this as Seifting for a second round of conversations.”

President Trump also discussed the meeting during the availability of the press on Thursday, saying that although this meeting is seen as important, he sees the possibility of holding a second meeting that would include Putin and Ukrainian President Voludeimir Zelinski more important in the peace process.

“We have a meeting with President Putin tomorrow,” Trump said. ” “We’ll see what is happening.”
