Apple is developing custom chips for smart glasses and more

Apple continues its focus on the devices produced at home, and is currently working on a new generation of chips for future devices, according to Bloomberg.

Processions are believed to be used for use in smart glasses, artificial intelligence servers, and the following generations of Mac devices.

One of the project includes a dedicated chip designed for smart glasses, which is believed to provide audio orders, to take pictures and sound playing, but will not be a fully enhanced reality devices (AR). The design of the chip is based on the low -energy components used today in the latest Apple Watch models, but it has been modified to use less energy and support multiple cameras.

According to reports, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, hopes that the company will take the initiative in this market sector. Meanwhile, Meta is expanding its own production line, as it plans for the first time in a sophisticated model of its Ray-Ban style device with a later view of this year. The company is said to target 2027 for the first time in glasses.

Apple glasses other than AR can use cameras to wipe the environment and artificial intelligence application to help users, which reflects the current Meta strategy. The name Codename “Nevis” is determined by the Apple Watch that supports the camera, while “Glennie” is for AirPods. It is believed that both are planned to release by 2027.

Apple is said to be a new set of processors specifically for Mac office; M6 (Komodo), M7 (Borneo), and a high chip “Sotra”. Apple is also believed to plan to upgrade the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro with the M5 chip later this year.

The efforts to develop internal chips to the application are part of the broader Apple batch to control the set of full devices for its products. The group of devices, led by Johny Srouji, expanded its wallet: earlier this year, Apple launched the first chip in the IPHONE 16E, with a sophisticated version, C2, which planned to release in 2026.
