Trump’s Fed Chair contenders step up as tensions with Powell escalate

The chief economist of the Heritage Foundation, Aeg Anthony, teard to Washington, DC, “hypocrisy” in president Donald Trump’s conflict with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on the “final result”.

Warsh was among the main candidates of Trump to replace the Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen in 2018. Trump finally appointed Powell in this role.
Recently, it was considered a competitor to the Secretary of the Treasury in the Trump Administration, before the president landed on the former hedge fund, Scott Bessin.
“I think he is doing a great job, and he serves the president well,” Warch said, adding that the following Federal Reserve “works smoothly” with the cabinet.

The former banker Morgan Stanley said that the federal reserve is responsible for the majority of issues raised by Trump.
“I think the Federal Reserve has done a very good job to blame others for their mistakes. It was very common to blame the president because it means that for them. Most of the Federal Reserve’s mistakes because of the options they have taken,” Warsh said.

Trump told the White House correspondents on Wednesday that Powell was “poor work” and that he had calls with “many people who want this job.”
The president said he would likely not shoot Powell before the end of the Federal Reserve Chairman in May 2026, but added that he would not “rule out anything.” He added that he discussed the capabilities of shooting at him during a meeting with Republicans in the House of Representatives.

Kevin Haysit, Trump’s chief economic advisor, is also working in running for the function of the Federal Reserve Chairman.
Hasit was a loyal defender of Trump’s economic agenda and is currently working as director of the National Economic Council of the White House. Hiacet Doreen was held during the Trump’s first administration and Trump advised on economic policy during the 2024 presidential campaign.

Trump told the White House correspondents on Wednesday that he believed that Hasket was “great” when he was asked about Powell’s successors.
Earlier in the week, Pesin said that the administration had started a “official operation” to name the successor of Powell.

“There are a lot of great candidates, and we will see how much they progress,” Pesin said in an interview with Bloomberg. When asked about the schedule to announce the new Federal Reserve Chairman, Bessent said it was “President Donald Trump’s decision, and he will move quickly.”
