Judge rules Trump illegally seized California National Guard during riots

A federal judge spent that president Donald Trump acted illegally when he took control of the National Guard in California during ice -related riots in Los Angeles.

The American boycott judge, Charles R. Prayer on Thursday, standing with the ruler Gavin News, and Trump orders the re -control of the guard to the state “immediately”.

“His actions were illegal – as he exceeded the scope of his legal authority and violated the tenth amendment to the US constitution,” Brayer wrote. “He must restore control of the California National Guard to the governor of California immediately.”

“Federalism is not optional”, the ruling states. “Even the president cannot legislate Fiat.”

The recent anti -ice protests led to riots, looting and clash with federal agents in Los Angeles. Trump issued a declaration calling for the federal authority, but Prayer refused to justify, describing it constitutionally hollow.

In his order, the American boycott judge was granted Charles R. Prayer asked the prosecutors to obtain a temporary restriction order and take an immediate action to stop federal control of the National Guard in California.

“The defendant is temporarily composed of the deployment of members of the National Guard in California, Los Angeles,” as the ruling states. “The defendants are directed to re -control the National Guard in California to the Governor Newsom.”

The court remained until noon on June 13, 2025, which gave the defendants a narrow window to comply. The prosecutors also ordered the publication of a name of $ 100 within 24 hours.

Looking at the future, Judge Prayer has set a hearing to determine whether the temporary restriction order should become a preliminary matter.

“The defendants are also asked to show the reason for not issuing a preliminary judicial order,” Prayer wrote. The session was appointed on June 20, 2025, at 10 am.
