When it comes to Bluetooth loudspeakers with less than $ 100, the settlement is part of the game. You want something small and light enough to throw a bag, but not to the extent that it looks like your phone in the tin can. Miniroll Eltimate Ears’, the latest spokesperson for the company, is heading towards balance well, and it does this in a unique package is just fun.
I was using Miniroll on and turning off for a few months, and I was really affected by its diversity, but more importantly, sound quality. Don’t let its size and an odd appearance deceive you, this is a dangerous speaker that can produce a loud and completely sound sound.
design
In only 9.77 ounces, the miniroll is incredibly light. Throw it in a backpack and promise you that you will not notice it. In 4.5 inches in diameter and a thickness of about 1.75 inches, so I can slide in the back pocket of my jeans. From the point of view of transfer, it may not be the smallest speaker on the market, but it shouldn’t be – it’s very small enough. You can buy it in one of the four colors: black, pink, gray or blue (in the picture here).
Why is round shape? Well, for the beginning, it is just a simple pleasure, but the best reason is that the drivers of speakers are round. When you fill a round driver in a round container, you get a loudspeaker that occupies the lowest space.
The woven fabric pigment is characterized by large size buttons in the ears (UE), while Power/BT skipping buttons and operation/stop/track are found around the side. The USB-C port takes charging, but unlike JBL Flip 7, it cannot be used for USB sound.
As is increasingly the case with portable audio products in general, UE does not charge Miniroll using its USB-C cable to avoid electronic waste (it is supposed to reduce the cost).
On the back there is a removable silicone belt that combines the functions of the wrist belt and caratiner, allowing you to connect Miniroll to all types of objects from bikes to the upper wire of your yard lamps. As a pregnancy belt, it is not comfortable like the real cord. You may be able to get a few fingers through the middle opening, but not all of your hand.
However, the tape plays an interesting role when applying the headphone on a flat surface. The feet of the four attached tapes alike provides an amazing connection and excellent vibration.
durability
With the IP67 classification, the Miniroll is an effective dust and water resistance. But UE also claims to be a decrease, up to 1.2 meters (about 3.9 feet), making it a very rough option.
It is ideal for annihilation or pool, but it is better to think about it as a speaker next to the pool, and not actually speaking. He may escape indulgence in water, but unlike his older brother, The Wonderboard 4, the miniroll does not float. In fact, it will drown like a stone (yes, I found it in the difficult way).
Expansion
UE (supported by Bluetooth Auracast) allows you to synchronize unlimited number of other Minirolls for simultaneous operation. As long as another miniroll falls within the Bluetooth domain (32 feet or closer), it can join your main PartyUp.
Unfortunately, Partyup cannot be used for two Minirolls, and UE shorten the audio sharing to other Minirolls only. The AURARACAST JBL app is more flexible, allowing any JBL amplifiers that support Auracast connection.
Sound quality
I think Miniroll looks great – for its size.
You will not get a bass, but the speaker is still able to allow you to hear most of this low end. However, Miniroll’s Voice Quality is the treatment of medium and wonderful frequencies. Both have very good clarity and details, and there is a warm color quality that I find missing from most of the super loudspeakers.
Marshall Willin coincides with a handful test. Willen, physically, is a square version of Miniroll, with the same design for a silicone belt on the back (I think Willen was the first to present this idea). Sound, though, the two cannot be more different. The miniroll provides the type of balance, details and confidence that you may expect from a larger speaker, struggling and softening strongly, with half of the perceived power and a much lower response.
When talking about the response of the brightness, I read some other Miniroll reviews that notice that there is no low end and indicated that for the same price of $ 80, you can get Motion Motion 300, a better Bluetooth speaker.
This is true, but it is also next to the point. Movement 300 is more than twice the size and three times the weight of Miniroll. Aside from the price, these speakers are not in the same category. I am not thinking twice about seizing Miniroll on the way out of the door. The movement may give me 300 pause.
The most logical Miniroll criticism is that UE does not provide an accompanying application, so there is no way to modify EQ. Frankly, I am not sure of what I will change if I can make adjustments. For my taste, the factory settings were fine.
Compared to competitors such as JBL Clip 4 or SoundCore Select 4 Go, Miniroll is constantly moving forward in clarity, depth and absolute listening.
Battery life
UE claims up to 12 hours of battery life, and in my test, most of them in a moderate size, this number appears. For its size – and given its impressive size – this is very good. Most of the other high positions have the same or less. However, if you want to get the maximum battery life at the smallest possible package, it is difficult to overcome Countcore Select 4 Go’s 20 hours.
conclusion
If you are looking for a pocket -sized sound amplifier, it does not look like a game, the final ears Miniroll is one of the best options there. It combines smart design, rugged building quality, and average sound in a loudspeaker that truly punctures its weight. Certainly, you will not fill the backyard with Bass, but for individual adventures, travel or unofficial comments, they are more than enough – and more than most of them in this price range.
