UNGA 80 brought many reminders to the place where the multilateral organization explodes – especially when it comes to stopping wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and beyond. US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Voludimir Zelinski criticized the United Nations failure in their discourse, as Trump said that the body only releases “empty words” and Zelinski spoiling “data and data only.”

However, there are other worlds where the United Nations global display strength remains difficult.

Climate work. Sitrep sat with Kashifu Abdullahi, chief technology and information official in Nigeria, on the margin of UNGA to have a conversation on how to move the largest economy in Africa in the American -Chinese Technology Competition. The conversation was edited and intensified for clarity.

FP: How balance between us and China technical?

Ka: We do not know. We want the best for Nigeria, so we look at what the West and the East brings to see how we can build the best for ourselves. We do not want to be a one -jewelry store only when it comes to infrastructure.

FP: What about concerns about security and digital sovereignty?

Ka: For this reason, we want to be in the center and in the conversation, because sovereignty revolves around us – not about Americans or Chinese. Everyone who needs to work with our conditions.

FP: How do you see the American -Chinese AI race as a country in the middle? Is there a clear winner?

Ka: I do not follow a lot of political talk, but for us the most important thing is how we can benefit. We do not care who wins the race, but will we be part of it? Everyone who is ready to work with us, we must work with them.
