US embassy Qatar warning tells Americans to shelter in place

The American embassy in Qatar asked the Americans to mention its place until another notice on Monday morning after the weekend attacks on Iran.

The embassy said that it made the recommendation “out of abundance of caution”, but it did not provide other details. Qatar is home to the UDEID air base, where approximately 10,000 American soldiers are deployed.

The consultant came after the Foreign Ministry issued a warning to American citizens on Sunday.

Iran pledged revenge on the United States after the American B-2 bombers dropped 14 bombers drawn on three Iranian nuclear sites.

“We must know that in addition to punishing his illegal and aggressive offspring, the hands of Islam fighters were released within the armed forces to take any action against their interests and military, and we will never retreat in this regard.”

“The consultant from a number of embassies to its citizens does not reflect the existence of specific threats,” said Qatar’s foreign affairs spokesman.

The statement said: “The security situation in the country is stable,” adding, “The relevant authorities closely monitor the situation and are ready to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens, residents and visitors.”

About 40,000 American soldiers are concentrated across the Middle East.

While Iran is expected to largely launch a counter -weekend attack, Israeli strikes have led to Iranian missile launcher and have exhausted its stock of medium -range missiles.

Meanwhile, the American homeland is undergoing a “increasing threat environment” in the wake of the weekend strikes, including “low -level electronic attacks against American networks by pro -Iranian infiltrators, and the Iranian government actors may make attacks against American networks.”
