US equal opportunity commission demands 20 law firms disclose DEI employment practices

The United States Employment Committee in the United States requires data from 20 legal companies on employment practices to increase diversity, fairness and integration, which warns the Federal Agency to be illegal.
Andrea Lucas, the committee chairman, Andrea Lucas, sent messages to companies that seek to obtain detailed information on the Dei programs that may be violating the seventh championship of the 1964 Civil law, which prohibits discrimination on employment based on race, color, sex and national origin.
Some companies have faced legal challenges for the president Donald Trump Policies targeting Dei or have links to its political opponents. She expressed concern that the employment practices of companies “may require illegal different treatment in terms of conditions, conditions, employment privileges, illegal limit, separation, classification” on the basis of race, sex and other protected characteristics.
“EEOC is ready to clarify discrimination anywhere he might wear his head, including in elite law firms in our nation,” Lucas said in a statement. “No one is above the law – and certainly not the private tape.”
Messages requested information about training, scholarships and collections that companies provide to law students, as well as employment and compensation practices.

EEOC can investigate companies ’employment practices and file lawsuits on allegations of discrimination, but only after a five -person employee or one of the five commissioners at the agency has made an official complaint. The agency did not make any indication that Lucas filed complaints against any of the companies.
Trump has sought to eliminate Dei programs throughout the country, including in the federal government, higher education and the private sector.
The President also took measures against prominent law firms because of their DEI practices.
Trump has issued executive orders this month targeting Perkins Koi, as well as Paul, Weiss, Riffend, and Erton & Garrison on the policies of the alleged discriminatory internal diversity of the two companies and the previous work of his political opponents. The orders of security permits for lawyers and restriction of their government and federal contracting work were canceled.
This is the matter that is also targeting Berkins Koy Lucas to “review large, influential, or pioneering acting practices” although the committee was designed to work independently of the White House.

Perkins Koy sued allegations that the matter violated his rights under the constitution of the United States. The judge temporarily prevented parts of the request last week.
Some companies have already adopted policies to encourage diversity from Foreign law firms.
Lucas, in the messages, has requested law firms to recognize customers since 2019 who have “diversity requirements” or declared preferences for employee employees. Companies’ procedures also requested to respond to the customer’s requirements, including the production of relevant documents.
