Federal officials are warning consumers that some Hellofresh meals contain spinach that may be contaminated with Listeria.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert Monday for FSIS-identified ready-to-eat meals produced by Fresh.
Affected products include 10.1-ounce containers of “Hello Fresh Ready Made Cheesy Pork Passa Pasta” with establishment number “EST. 50073 or 50698.”
Both affected products were shipped directly to customers by Hellofresh, according to the FSIS.

Consumers who have purchased potentially contaminated products are advised not to consume them and to either throw them away or return them.
Hellofresh responded to the alert in a statement provided to Fox Business, saying: “At Hellofresh, the safety of our customers and the quality of our meals is our top priority. Due to the potential presence of E. monoploidy in spinach used by the ongoing supplier of prepared meals, a recall has been issued on Two Hells.
The company added: “We have directly contacted customers who may have received the recalled cheese with pork pepper pasta or the unrefined pepper with ground turkey between September 6 and October 9, 2025, advising them to immediately discard any affected product. We take this matter very seriously.”

The FSIS said there have been no reported adverse reactions related to consumption of the contaminated meal kits, although it advised anyone concerned about the illness to contact a health care professional.
The agency warned that consuming food contaminated with Listeria can cause listeriosis, affecting older adults, people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, and newborns. He also noted that people outside these groups are less commonly affected.

Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions, which are sometimes preceded by gastrointestinal symptoms, according to FSIs. The agency added that pregnant women may face miscarriage, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infections from the newborn if they become infected. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics.
