‘Utter nonsense’: Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal rubbishes claims on market share loss amid viral Reddit post

The CEO of Zomato Deepinder Goyal refused on Saturday the claim that the company is losing its share in the market or forcing employees to demand exclusively from its platform. He followed his response to the viral Reddit function, claiming from the Zomato employee, which raised concerns about the internal practices of the company and the competitive position.

The unknown Post claimed that Zomato was losing in front of his competitors such as Zepto Cafe and Swiggy. He claimed that employees have been assigned to put at least seven orders per month on Zomato, with the application of the internal tracking, and that the request was banned from competitors such as Swiggy inside the office headquarters.

The post also described the “toxic” work environment, noting the sudden exit of Ransish Ranjan, the former CEO of the food Delivery Department in Zomato, shortly after the city hall with the employees.

“All this is absolute,” Joyl said in a post on the social media platform X (Twitter). “We do not lose its share in the market, and we will not force our employees to demand zomato. Freedom of choice is something we strongly offer.”

The post also mentioned a negative work environment, referring to the sudden separation of Ranzanan, the former head of the Food Delivery Department in Zomato, after a meeting with the employees.

The post read that one of the main challenges facing the industry is related to the processing of delivery partners. These main workers suffer from an important issue of obtaining low salaries and high devices, especially when compared to competitors such as Zomato, which pays a much lower price, and sometimes nearly half of them.
