Vance tells Naval Academy graduates of ‘new and very dangerous era’ facing America

On Friday, Vice Vice President JD Vance told the United States Academy of Navy that they are shining on a mission in a “new and very dangerous era for our country” as opponents such as China and Russia “are determined to overcome us in every one field.
Speaking to Annapolis, Vans said that the Trump administration “reflected the path” in US foreign policy as there will be no “more unlimited tasks” and “no more open conflicts.”
“We turn to a strategy based on realism and protect our basic national interests. Now, this does not mean that we ignore the threats. But this means that we are dealing with them with discipline and that when we send you to war, we do this with a very specific set of goals in mind.”
“In the aftermath of the Cold War, America enjoyed an unorganized matter – airspace, the sea, space, and electronic space. But the era of American domination that has not yet ended. Today we are facing serious threats in China, Russia and other countries determined to hit us in every one field,” he added.

“You will be the leaders of men and women in our armed forces,” Vans said. “So, while President Trump congratulates you on this amazing achievement, I also thought it would be appropriate to tell you a little about how I think the president and I am on your mission in this new and very dangerous age for our country.”
The vice president said that the previous US administrations implemented “a long experience in our foreign policy that was circulating the national defense and maintaining our alliances to build the nation and interfere in the affairs of foreign countries, even when these foreign countries are not a great relationship with the basic American interests.”
“After the collapse of the Soviet Union … for a short period, we were a great power without any fear. We did not think that any foreign country could rise to compete with the United States of America,” he said.

“Thus, our leaders have exchanged solid strength for soft power. We have stopped making things, everything from cars to computers to war weapons, such as ships that guard our waters and the weapons that you will use in the future. Why did we do that?” Over time, we were told that the world will be close to a unified group of secular secular ideals regardless of culture or country. And those who do not want to meet, our political makers will make their goal to force them with any necessary means. ”
“So instead of devoting our energies in the rise … competitors like China, our leaders have continued what they assumed would be easy for the world’s prominent strength in the world. How difficult is to build new democracies in the Middle East?
“We must be, all, not only smarter,” said [when] We send our forces to war, and do so with the right tools. ”

“We can no longer assume that our associations will come without cost. That is why the Trump administration invests in innovation, a reward for risks in the Ministry of Defense and simplifying the weapons acquisitions for the new century,” he said during his speech.
