New border sector becomes busiest as overall numbers continue to plummet

The EL PASO sector has become in the southwestern border more crowded in the country as the total confrontations continued on the border.
The El Paso sector, which runs from HudSpeth, Texas, to the New Mexico Arizona state line, has become the most crowded on the southwestern border in February, where the latest US customs and protection data (CBP) has been recorded that it has been recorded 2,110 confrontations last month.
In general, CBP 8347 data shows meetings on the southwestern border in February, with an amazing decrease of 94.1 % from the same month last year, when 124,215 meetings were recorded.

While the El Paso sector took the crown to the most crowded, more than 2000 meetings for the region are still a significant decrease on an annual basis from the numbers recorded during February last year, when the sector faced 23,919 meetings. February numbers in El Paso also represented a decrease from last month, as the sector recorded 4,870 meetings in January 2025.
EL PASO replaced the San Diego sector as the most crowded on the southwestern border in February, where San Diego scored only 1650 meetings last month, a 94.8 % decrease from the previous year. San Diego numbers were a significant decrease from that registered last month, when the sector scored 6390 meetings.

CBP has nine sectors on the southwestern border of the California coast that extends to the east to Texas and the Gulf of America. Multiple sectors along the border under 200 total meetings were recorded in February, including the EL Centro sector in the imperial valley in California and the Big Bend in West Texas.

The El Centro sector recorded the lowest number of meetings in February, where CBP 102 data shows only 91.6 % of the same time last year. The Big Ben sector was not far from the knees, as it recorded only 165 meetings in February, which represents a 71 % decrease from the same month last year.
