Washington bill could allow illegal immigrants to receive housing assistance

Critics say that a draft law approved by lawmakers in Washington can open the door for illegal immigrants to receive cash assistance under a program designed to provide housing assistance and other basic elements of some low -income populations who are unable to work.
The Democratic Legislative Council in the state approved last month SB 5232, which was handed over to the governor of the Democratic State, Bob Ferguson.
The draft law updates the provisions of referral related to the referral program (HEN) for the basic needs of the state, which provides assistance to low -income American citizens, permanent legal residents and human trafficking victims if they are not able to work because of their physical or mental state.

The legislators have amended the draft law to remove the eligibility requirements of being “citizens or foreigners who have been legally accepted for permanent residence or resided in another way in the United States under the color of the law.”
“We have no problem in giving direct funds and housing money to non -citizens, along with $ 150 million in medicaid to non -citizens,” said senator Republican Leonard Christian, a member of the Senate Humanitarian Committee.
“It seems that the state is trying to choose a battle with the Trump administration,” he added.
The country has allocated approximately $ 130 million to the chicken program in an attempt to address homelessness and housing.
In a publication on social media, MP Travis Couture also criticized SB 5232, describing it as a “same budget” with “more beneficiaries”.
Newsom requires approximately $ 3 billion for the state’s health program flooded by illegal immigrants
“This means that our people go out of the line in favor of illegal immigrants,” he wrote last week. “The governor of the state Ferguson – this veto. It is unfair and this is wrong. Place our people first!”
Ferguson did not point out whether the legislation would be signed. Fox News Digital communicated with the sponsors of the draft law and the ruler’s office.

Christian was distinguished by the government that reached housing money as a “gift of taxpayers dollars,” noting that the money has no “handrails around it.” He cited his own life experience, remembering his mother once left him and his 12 -year -old brother at home to go across the country.
“I used the money given to my mother to buy groceries and food for us to buy marijuana and alcohol at the age of 12,” he said. “I have seen direct (effect) drug use and money delivery to a person.”

Christian said the Democrats preferred higher taxes on companies and wealthy people, which eventually flow to the population and programs of the middle and lower class that benefit illegal immigrants to American citizens.
“Often, the Democratic Party considers their hearts more than their head,” he said. “It is the idea that they see a problem, and they think they can fix it.”
He said that Republicans want to address the same issues, but they look at how potential solutions affect the total population.

“They do not get the fact that another person should pay the price of this crazy program,” he said. “I would definitely wander with a card and enjoy and save the world, but who will pay this visa bill, when they don’t seem to care.”
SB 5232 has been passed as the country faces a $ 16 billion budget deficiency. In addition, Ferguson recently signed a handful of bills to protect immigrants’ rights, including measures to allow the state to search private detention centers and ban bond agents on bail of imposing immigration laws.
