‘We could have ended up losing’

Arsenal coach Michel Arteta says his team played well in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United but could have been easily lost.

Gunners resisted from a goal after Bruno Fernandez scored a free kick on the stroke in the first half.

Diklan Rice wandered a beautiful blow out of the position before colliding with the Mobilization of Old Trafford, but it was on the second side of the Premier League to settle for a point.

There was a great opportunity for the hosts to win at the end of the match, but for David Raya, not the first in the afternoon.

Speaking after the match, ARTETA said: “When we had the first half that we had where we were exceptional, we did not test the goalkeeper.

“We had some incredible situations, but we did not get the last shot or the last pass. We did not benefit, we rushed the game, and we started losing the eruptions and we ended up losing it.

“The implementation must be in the right player and the right player to shoot. How do we confess [chances] In certain moments it was not acceptable. They have great quality and choose the right player and usually ends in the goal.

“We opened the gate to inspect the game. There was no opportunity to lose the game and opened it ourselves. I will defend my players all the time but at those moments, we have to do what is better.”

Rice echoed the ideas of his manager, admitting that they played well in talismans, but the clouds were in the end a fair result.

The England midfielder continued that although Arsenal is now sitting 15 points behind Liverpool in the title race, they will continue to pay until the end of the season.

He said: “In the first half, we had some beautiful pieces of playing but we did not have these advanced events. In the second half, we were very naive and we presented the game to Man United almost. To return to the game, score and keep paying. It may be a fair point in the end.

“We scored seven in the middle of the week and that is not luck. PSV was not lost at home for two years.

“I didn’t see the goal again. I felt that the ball flew over us at a low height. It is – it is [the wall for the free-kick] I felt far away. Anthony [Taylor] It is the reference, it makes this decision.

“I was happy. I think it’s a little football joke between me and the fans. It is an area I want to continue to enter and create more opportunities. I need to continue to add goals. The manager wants to play me eighth to add goals and assistance.

“The opportunity in the end with Bruno and David make two great conservation, and for this reason I say that naivety. It was about us and it was possible to throw the game away.

“As the manager said, we will continue until the end of the season. Liverpool was amazing throughout the year. We are arsenal. We were severely injured by injuries. We will continue to go and be fine.”
