Tesla board denies launching search for Musk’s successor

Robin Dunholm, Chairman of Tesla, denied a report that the Board of Directors was seeking to replace CEO Elon Musk in response to her sales and a widespread reverse reaction against his alliance with US president Donald Trump.

“Earlier today, there was a media report that he was wrongly claiming that Tesla Council had contacted employment companies to start the company’s CEO’s search process,” Dunholm said in a post on the account of the electric car maker on the social media platform X at the morning of Thursday.

“This is completely wrong … Tesla CEO is Elon Musk and the Council is very confident in its ability to continue implementing the upcoming exciting growth plan.”

She was responding to a story published a day ago in the Wall Street Journal, which said the council had contacted heads to recruit behind it after he was concerned about the time he was spending in Washington.
