The Wall Street Journal reported that the White House is pressuring the Pentagon, which confirms on Saturday to rename the Ministry of Defense in the Ministry of War, according to the Wall Street Journal for the first time.
The Ministry of War was established by congress in August 1789 to oversee the operation and maintenance of military branches. After changing a brief name to the National Military Foundation after the Second World War, it was changed to the Ministry of Defense.
White House press secretary Anna Kelly told Fox News that the change comes amid the restoration of American military values.
As president [Donald] Trump said, our army should focus on the crime – not only the defense – that is why he gave the priority of war players in the Pentagon instead of Di and awakened the ideology, “Kelly wrote in a statement.” Stay tuned! ”

Trump says the next Ministry of Defense is “soon.”
This announcement comes days after Trump said that changing the name will happen “next week or so.”
“As you know, we call it the Ministry of Defense, but among us, I think we will change the name,” the president at the White House said earlier in the week. “You want to know the truth, I think we’ll get some information about it, maybe soon.”

Trump pointed to the historical importance of the name of the administration during both world wars.
“We won the First World War [and] World War II. It was called the Ministry of War. He said: “This is really what it is, I am talking to people. Everyone loves it. We had an incredible history of victory when it was the Ministry of War. Then we changed it to the Ministry of Defense.”

Congress creates federal executive departments under the law, so the amendment will be asked to change the name legally.
“I am sure that Congress will be in line with if we need it,” Trump said. “But if we need to do so, I am sure that Congress will agree,” Trump said. “Defense is very defensive. We want to be defensive, but we want to be offensive also if we have to be. So, it seemed to me as a better name.”
