The famous financial advisor only suggested allocating 1 % to the cryptocurrency sector in 2021. Now, he says that this allocation should range between 10 % and 40 %, depending on your risk appetite – 10 % for conservative investors, 25 % for moderate investors and 40 % for aggressive investors.

There are two main reasons for acute change in the Edelman perspective. The first, which seems to have nothing to do with cryptocurrencies, is that humans live longer.

He said that the 60/40 portfolio, which was widely followed with 60 % shares and 40 % allocating to bonds, assumed that most people will retire in 65 years and die in 85 years. But with people who live longer with the progress of science with every contract that passes through, Edelman said investors need greater investment growth because they need money for a longer period after retirement.

Edelman believes that the cryptocurrency sector offers the best growth capabilities for any group of assets. He said that the sector has surpassed all others in the past fifteen years, and it is possible that it will continue to do so in the next decade. He said that one of the reasons for this is that adoption “is still incredibly low.”

“Only about 5 % of the world’s population who have encryption at this stage,” CNBC told CNBC. “With more and more involved, … we will see huge flows of assets, and because it is definitely in the case of Bitcoin, it is one of the fixed assets, the more people who buy them, the higher the price.”

The second main reason is that Edelman is now comfortable with the most important exposure in the encrypted currency is that he believes that a lot of uncertainty about the future of the assets category has been resolved now.
