Why Jason Biggs Let His Son Watch His Infamous ‘American Pie’ Scene

The actor explained that his children kept hearing about the infamous scene from people and kept teasing him about what it was, adding that the conversation was embarrassing for Syed.

Jason Biggs previously revealed whether he would return for revenge in “American Pie 5” after previous negotiations failed.

For more than two decades, Jason Biggs has been synonymous with his famous “American Pie” scene in which his character Jim is caught by his father in a compromising position with a freshly baked pie.

This scene remained stuck in the memories of fans of the classic film, who apparently did not fail to bring it up from time to time, even with their children.

Now, Biggs is recounting the moment he had to open up to his son, Sid, about it, explaining that he even had to let his teenage son watch it.

“They kept hearing about ‘American Pie’ and pie and [asking]“Daddy, what are you doing with the pie?” And I had to have a conversation with my oldest son,” the 47-year-old actor recalled on an episode of “The Julia Cunningham Show” on SiriusXM.

“I actually showed him the scene. Jenny and I talked about this, and we were like, ‘We want to move forward with this,'” he added. New York Post.

The “Wedding Daze” star apparently didn’t care about the embarrassing nature of the scene and just wanted to be an honest parent to his son.

He shared that the film is still shown periodically, and once said while he was in New York with his children, “A guy walked past all of us and literally yelled at me, ‘Hey, it’s the damn pie,’ and I immediately looked at the boys.”

However, Biggs was glad his children did not hear the person’s inappropriate remark.

It seems that the incident in New York was part of the reason why he talked to his son, who was already familiar with what sex was.

“It’s my version of sex talk, isn’t it?” Biggs pointed out. “It’s like, how much do you want them to hear from friends and other people at school, and how much do you want to control the narrative, and that was literally happening with the movie American Pie.”

He added, “He guessed it, so in a way, I almost couldn’t control the narrative, but he wasn’t quite sure. But I wanted to ask him first. So I said, ‘What do you think is going on?’ “I was just curious, and he guessed right.”

Alongside Sid, Biggs is also father to eight-year-old son Lazio, whom he shares with wife Jenny Mullen.

The “Orange Is The New Black” alumnus went so far as to say that it was a very awkward conversation between him and his son, but apparently that didn’t stop him from having it.

“He was embarrassed to say it, really embarrassed, but I was like, ‘Okay. Let me show you. Let me show you what happened,’ and I showed him the scene, and he laughed and laughed,” Biggs explained.

“He was definitely a little uncomfortable,” Biggs admitted. “He said I was a good actor,” he added.
