The CEO of a production company is leveraging the power of social media to reach untapped audiences, aiming to engage young voters and better inform them about socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zahran Mamdani ahead of election Day on November 4.
Fat Camp Films CEO Zach Sage Fox has been hired by the campaign of independent New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo after current New York City Mayor Eric Adams dropped out. He was hired to produce 8-10 videos for the social media campaign.
“If you look at the polling, it’s starting to harden in direct correlation with our revamp of the campaign’s social media,” Fox told Fox News Digital.

Mamdani vows to challenge Trump in fiery final march from Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall before Election Day
The New York Post reported that a poll conducted by Atlas Intel on October 31 showed Mamdani leading by only 6.6 points.
“I’d like to think we were definitely a big part,” Fox said. “The question is, is it a little too late? We’ve had less than a month to do a good job, and there are a million other workers and a million other pieces of the pie that we’re not part of.”
Fox graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in political communications and has collaborated with non-profit organizations and brands such as Coca-Cola, Airbnb, What Do You Meme, and more.
While Fox and his team are not only responsible for the Cuomo campaign’s social media strategy, they have created several popular videos that have garnered millions of views and even swayed some voters’ opinions.
Video titled “Are you hiring Zahran?” It had over 5 million views and showed Fox visiting local businesses in New York City with a clip of Mamdani and his resume to ask if they would hire the socialist candidate.

“All the reactions I saw were real,” Fox said. “Even the $1 pizza shop was like, ‘Oh, I’m not going to hire someone with that resume. What? He trained under his mother and was a rapper? “He can’t work here.”
Equinox Health Club, along with a local nail salon and McDonald’s, were among the companies that said they would not hire Mamdani based on his resume.
“McDonald’s won’t hire him, but we might make this guy mayor,” Fox said.
“This guy has never managed anything with more than five or six people. He has never managed more than a small team. He has no skills to manage more than 300,000 jobs.”

“Muslims vs. Mamdani,” a viral video produced by Fat Camp Films showing a group of Muslims sitting at a table inviting passers-by to inquire about their reasons for not supporting him, has received more than 10 million views.
Fox parodied Schoolhouse Rock’s song “I’m Just a Bill” with a video titled “I’m Just a Bill,” which received over 15 million views in one day.
“I feel good about it,” Fox told Fox News Digital. “I feel like his chance to win this tournament is much better than when we got into the season. If the chance is good enough, we’ll see.”
Fox, a lifelong independent, says he would have teamed up with Cuomo, Adams or Republican New York City mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa to run against Mamdani.

“When he won, it was shocking,” Fox said of Mamdani’s victory in the mayoral primary. “More and more things started to come to light about his past and his family to the point where it was nauseating to me that someone who was so anti-Semitic, with so little job experience, could be so close to becoming mayor of New York City.”
Fox added that anyone put in the same position with the same views would have frightened him just as much and that his jibes towards Mamdani had nothing to do with his Islamic background.
“I’m not worried about having a Muslim mayor, I’m worried about having a mayor who is anti-Semitic and pro-terrorism,” Fox said.
“During his failed rap career, he was rapping about the Holy Land Five,” Fox said. “He would say: Shout to the Holy Land five.”

“You better look for them,” he added. “These are his heroes. These are terrorists. Hamas is a terrorist group. He will not condemn Hamas. This man is a terrorist sympathizer. I don’t think he is a terrorist, but he is a terrorist sympathizer, and this is as close as you can get to being a terrorist. This is very terrifying.”
As a New Yorker, and beyond his Jewish background, Fox said he is sad for New York City and fears dying under Mamdani’s mayorship.
“Defunding the police doesn’t work,” he said of Mamdani’s previous statements about defunding the police. “Adding cops works.”
“Adams is a Democrat, and Adams just tried to add 5,000,” he said of Adams’ recent plan to fund 5,000 new NYPD officers over three years.
“This is not a Republican or Democratic issue, but Mamdani has gone so far left on the crime issue that I know there will be New Yorkers who die on his watch,” Fox said. “I’m fine. I’m the CEO.”

Fox worries for the average person who has to take the subway or walk to work, especially through dangerous neighborhoods.
“They don’t have a chance,” he said.
