Amy Sherald cancels Smithsonian exhibit after Vance flags trans Lady Liberty

Exclusive: Amy Sherrald canceled her next exhibition, which includes a picture of the statue of the transgender of freedom at the National Photo Gallery in Smithsonian after Vice President GD Vans raised fears that the show included waking up and the content of the dispute.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order in March, and Vans was responsible for overseeing the removal of programs or exhibitions in the Smithsonian museums that “deteriorate American values, divide Americans on the basis of race, or strengthen programs or ideologies that do not contradict federal law and politics.”

Vans said that the “High American” exhibition violated Trump’s executive order and was an example of waking up and divisional content during a meeting on June 9 with the Referees Council, according to a source familiar with the meeting at Fox News Digitter.
