WIRED Roundup: The New Fake World of OpenAI’s Social Video App

Manisha Krishnan: Yes, this season … I mean, this is the first time I have seen it 15 years ago. But this season was in its right place. It seems as if they were reading Wire and mocking everything. I feel that if Trump and Eric Adams start a dialogue program, it may be a catastrophic.
Zoe Chevir: I love it.
Manisha Krishnan: Because everyone will find it funny across political lines.
Zoe Chevir: So South Park may save us after all. Literally switching gears for our next story. Our colleague Arian Marshall said that Tesla was encouraging drivers who feel sleepy to use full self -driving position or FSD mode in their cars. Unlike its name, this feature does not actually allow cars to drive itself, but only helps drivers in doing a variety of basic tasks. The car guide says that the driver should be ready to take over at all times. But drivers report messages inside the car asking them to do the opposite. Messages say things like “drowsiness has been discovered, continue to focus with FSD.” Or, “a delinquency has been discovered, allow FSD to help you so that you can continue to focus.”
Manisha Krishnan: Yes, this seems dangerous. They seem to say somewhat, “Hello, do you want to take a nap now? FSD start.” No, they should play music, play air conditioner, and make it look like a semester to wake you up. Tesla has made changes to its technology to make it difficult for drivers that are not with the use of FSD. In 2021, the company began using driving cameras inside the car to determine where its drivers were noting enough while using FSD.
Zoe Chevir: This appears to conflict with their previous efforts to build more safety on their self -leadership features. This is like a very sensitive time for Tesla. For years, the company was accused of manufacturing products that are claimed to be defective in certain ways. Last August, Florida’s jury found that the company was partially responsible for a 2019 crash that killed a 22 -year -old woman. The accident occurred when the Tesla Model S driver used an old version of the company’s assistant driver program called Autopilot. Meanwhile, Ellen Musk and the company’s FSD board put the car of automobile companies strategy. So Mask promised that this feature would be transformed into a truly independent driving system by the end of the year, although this seems unlikely. It is generally known to Elon Musk that he is preparing a very aggressive timeline, and then passes it over and over again. Another one before we go to the break. Emily Moulin, a correspondent of Wire SCIENCE magazine, said this week that scientists made human eggs from the skin cells, and used them to form embryos. This is a huge deal because it may mean a new way to treat infertility for people who want to have children. But for clarification, none of the embryos actually used to try to prove pregnancy. It is unlikely that they have evolved beyond the womb. But it is still a really big problem because it can one day be used as an alternative to IVF.
