Wisconsin, Florida elections get spin treatment as Dems, GOP look ahead to 2026

Democrats celebrate a greater victory than expected in high -level elections and is historically costly in Wisconsin, in the first competition for the polling fund since President Donald Trump returned to power in January.

While the Republican Party came out in the forefront in other marquee competitions on Tuesday, it conveniently controlled two vacant seats in the twin elections in the state of Red Stat

Democrats depict competitions last week as early referendum on Trump’s unique and controversial movements during the opening months of his second round at the White House, including reducing the size of the huge federal government directed by billionaire to the White Consultant Elon Musk.

Democrats argue that the results in Wisconsin and Florida are a sign of the things that will come in the renewal elections next year.

“These races have proven what we have seen again and again this year: People are already tired of the agenda of chaos in Trump as they vote for a change,” Ken Martin, head of the National Democratic Committee, confirmed in an e -mail for supporters.

But the head of the Republican National Committee, Mike Watti, referring to the victories of Florida, and replied that “the American people sent a clear message … they want elected officials who will enhance President Trump’s first agenda, and their voices cannot be bought by national Democrats.”

The liberal candidate wins the first major elections in the state level for this year

In Wisconsin, Judge Suzan Croford, a liberal tendencies, topped the judge who tends to conservatives Brad Shemel by about 10 percentage points, to maintain the liberal majority in the Supreme Court in Wisconsin, who is likely to judge decisive cases such as the restoration of congress, voting and abortion rights.

With a large pump of money from democratic alignment and Republicans from outside the Wisconsin state, which technically transformed the non -partisan race into the most expensive judicial elections in the history of the nation, the competition partially turned into the battle of an agent on Trump as well as Musk, who personally introduced him to the election.

Musk, CEO of Tesla and Spacex, who took a tinnitus in the federal government workforce, directed the recently created government efficiency department of Trump, which caused about $ 20 million in the Wisconsin race through groups aligned to support the Schimel support.

In a controversial step, Musk took over a $ 1 million check in a mass rally in Green Bay last Sunday to voters in Wisconsin who have already made voting cards in the competition and signed a petition to stop the “active judges”.

“I could never imagine that I would face the richest man in the world, for justice in the state of Wisconsin. We won.”

The results in the state of Wisconsin are likely to give a tremor and verify their efforts to target musk.

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer, the largest Democrat in the Chamber, argued that the Wisconsin state voters “sent a decisive message to Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Douj through an extremist Republic rejection of their Supreme Court: Our democracy is not for sale.”

DNC, which is looking for larger competitions next year in the mid -term elections, called for the confrontation in Wisconsin “Belwether”.

But veteran Republican strategic Matt Gorman indicated that two years ago, when the conservatives lost their majority in the Supreme Court in Wisconsin, the candidate who tends to the liberal won 11 points.

Pointing to the margin of this 10 -point week, with Trump at the White House, Gourman asked, “This is what the Democrats are up and down?”

In Florida, the two -number victories by Republican candidates will be given a little bit of the breathing room in the House of Representatives, where the party has a very fragile majority as it aims to pass the Trump agenda.

But the Democratic candidates in the private elections in the Special Congress surpassed their Republican counterparts-a sign that the party’s base is angry and revitalized-which was forced into groups outside the Republican Party to pour money and resources into races during the final extending. Democratic candidates ended up losing 15 and 14 points in the areas that Trump carried by 37 and 30 points in the presidential elections last November.

The elections were held in Wisconsin and Florida on the eve of the Trump tariff, which sparked a trade war with the best trade partners in the country and launching a huge sale in financial markets. The last step by the president can also put a theater for a violent reaction in the largest polling box next year.

But Democrats have a serious brand issue at the present time.

The positive classification of the party has sank to its lowest levels ever in separate national surveys made by CNN and NBC News. These numbers were followed low for Democrats in a survey of the University of Quinobak in this field in February.

In addition, newer Fox News Poll He pointed out that the classification of Democrats in Congress by 30 %, near its lowest level ever. Democratic activists are angry because his party’s inability on the Trump agenda.

When it comes to low low elections for the year and special elections, the party in power-which is clear that Republicans in the country’s capital-are facing political winds.

“We will get up to fight on another day. But this was not our day,” Shimel said in his concession speech.

“Exit from the successful November, we knew that the April elections would be difficult.”

“Democrats have won or excessive performance in almost every special election race this year, including this week.”

But the Republicans notice that the Democrats enjoyed a wide range of private election victories in 2023 and 2024 before suffering from serious setbacks in the November elections last.

“Special elections are especially for some reason, and they are not always useful in coal mines for what awaits us,” Colin Reed, veteran strategic expert Colin Reed told Fox News Digital. “While it can be used as an energy scale, it is also a reflection of individual candidates whose names are on polling cards.”

Gourman stressed that the special elections are “not predictive.”

Reid argued that “the biggest challenge for Democrats who are looking forward is the absence of a ruling vision or agenda that transcends the reflexive and blanket opposition of the White House and their continuous position outside the main current in a large number of logical issues.”
