Adams, Cuomo demand Columbia records of Mamdani; Sliwa rejects it as sideshow

New York City mayor Eric Adams and former ruler Andrew Como calls for a complete investigation into allegations that Zahran Mamdani was falsely defined as an American of African origin in the application of Columbia University.
However, Republican candidate Cortis Slawa says that the controversy is a distraction from Mamdani’s socialist agenda and turns it only into a victim, and to stimulate his supporters and swing unlimited voters.
Adams and Komo warned that the alleged racist Mamdani distorted could indicate a deeper deception – with Adams’s campaign describing this “perhaps fraudulent” move and warning the Como campaign that it might be “just a tip of the iceberg.”

Mamdani, the Democratic candidate for the mayor of New York City, was identified as a “black or African American” in the 2009 Columbia University application, although he now says he does not consider himself black, the New York Times reported on Thursday. Mamdani, who was then a senior high school, examined “Asian” and according to what he wrote in “Uganda” in space for an additional background. He was not acceptable in Colombia in the end, although his father is a professor at the Elite School. He was not an American citizen at the time.
Mamdani told the Times, which he identified as “an American born in Africa,” and said that checking multiple funds was an attempt to reflect his “complex background” and not to gain an advantage in the competitive admission process.
However, Adams condemned Mamdani’s actions as “an insult to every student who entered the college in the right way.”
Adams said: “The American -African identity is not a choice for rest.” “It is a history, struggle, and live experience. For someone who is exploiting for personal gains, he is very offensive.”

Rich Azobardi, spokesperson for the Como campaign, chanted calls from Adams camp.
“This should not be surprising because Mamdani – his proposals, financing, and background – has never received any scrutiny,” said Azobardi. “This problem must be completely investigated because, if it is true, it may be fraud and only the tip of the iceberg.”
Adams works as independent, after his democratic election in late 2021, while Komo weighs an independent road to Gracie, after losing to Mamdani in the democratic preliminary elections.

Sliwa, on the other hand, takes the highway and sees controversy as a political distraction, which will only help the Mamdani issue.
“There is a lot we can criticize Zoran for … for me, what do we do here?” Tell Sliwa Fox News Digital. “We are making him a martyr. We are a victim of Zahran and separated from the issues of the reason that his election represents a threat to New York City.
“He is being attacked as a Muslim, and is mocking how he was taking it in a video. Stop it. You are angering people who may not agree with him on issues. You are destroying his support.”
Mamdani’s victory in a political earthquake caused a large apple, hitting fear for moderates, independents and conservatives-and even parts of the Democratic Party-who believe that its socialist policies can have devastating and long-term consequences on the financial capital of the world. Mamdani ran on a platform that included economic policies that are in line with progressive and socialists in the Democratic Party, such as the minimum wage of $ 30, tax increase on companies, wealthy policies, and other policies, such as the establishment of the city’s grocery stores and the imposition of rental of rent for independent tenants.

Sliwa Critics warned that critics hand over Mamdani a political gift.
“Even people who do not agree with him on issues will gather to his defense when they believe that the attacks are unfair or at the top,” Sliwa added. “Let’s go back to issues where there are clear differences between how Zahran Mamdani wants to manage the city and the way I want to operate this city – Eric Adams or Andrew Como. Stop this, you just give it.”
The Adams campaign at the University of Colombia calls for issuing records of acceptance of Mamdani in 2009, clarifying whether his non -citizen situation has affected admission or financial aid decisions, and to make an official review to determine whether any university policies have been violated or not.
“We need answers,” Adams spokesman Toddo said. “Because the New York people deserve to know if the man who is asking for their vote has built their career on a possibly fraudulent basis.”
Fox News Digital has communicated with the Mamdani campaign about the controversy and its opponents were taken, but they did not receive a response immediately.

Mamdani told the Times that regardless of these forms of college, he does not remember that by the black American or Africans. His parents are both Indian origin. His father, Professor of Colombia, Mahmoud Mamdani, lived in East Africa for generations, but Mamdani said that there was no marriage in the family with original African groups.
Mamdani bowed to his identity in South Asia and Muslim on the path of the campaign.
During a speech in the month of June in the National Work Network for Cherpton, he also emphasized its African roots, saying: “I was born in Kampala, Uganda … I got my middle name, Kwami, by my father, who was called the first Prime Minister of Ghana.”
