Harper Murray shared her ideas about the challenges and amendments necessary for a successful high school to university volleyball. In an interview with Axcess at Hurdat SPORTS, I talked about how sport varies and the level of competition in the college from high school, adding (32:30 ascending):

“Sports change when you reach college, you play against girls four years older than you. So there are small things like this more than others. I have always tried to work outside the gym, of course. But the thing that the coach always used to say to us,“ volleyball does not know your age, ”and that’s very true.”

“Volleyball does not know your age, it has no idea. So I think, at the back of your mind, this is something that must be taken into account.”

I also mentioned in the interview that the existence of a correct mentality about age alone is not enough because one needs hard work to meet the expectations and the athlete and the level of competition required to excel in the college compared to the secondary school.
