Zohran Mamdani appears to indicate prisons may be obsolete in resurfaced clip

Zahran Mamdani, the main candidate for the municipality of New York City, who is a socialist who declares the eyebrows again because he appeared that prisons are not important in a video clip of his socialist recently.
Mamdani, a member of the New York State Board and Democratic Candidate of the Dean, presented the comments in an interview with 2020 while running for the state office.
In response to a question about whether he believes that prisons are outdated, Mamdani answered, “I think that frankly – I mean – what is the purpose they serve? I think we have to ask ourselves.”

The Democratic Democratic candidate added: “I think many people who defend the state of futility are defending the idea of this and the way they make them feel. They do not defend their reality and practices that are an integral part of it.
“Because if you already dismantled it and asked people about the number of people who come out of the prison system better than they went to the prison system, how much is the damage that is already prevented for construction, I think that when these types of questions are asked, people do not always have clear answers.”
Mamdani added that when discussing the prison system, “What do they always want to burn,” What will you do about the killers? What will you do about rapists? “

Many view Mamdani as a controversial candidate, in part due to the proposals of his socialist policy and severe criticism of the State of Israel. He refused to say whether Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish state and initially refused to condemn the phrase “globalization of the uprising.” However, he recently started running out of this phrase.
